CM lays foundation stone of Central Veterinary Hospital at Athwajan | KNO

Srinagar, Oct 31 (KNO): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Friday laid the foundation stone of the Central Veterinary Hospital at Athwajan, Srinagar, marking a major step towards strengthening veterinary infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. The project, to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 11.91 crore, will serve as a state-of-the-art centre for veterinary treatment, diagnostics, and animal welfare service. The project is being executed by the Public Works (R&B) Department and will cater to the growing needs of livestock owners and dairy farmers in the vicinity. The Chief Minister said the establishment of the hospital will greatly benefit livestock farmers by providing modern veterinary services, disease control measures, and emergency care under one roof. He emphasized that the government is committed to supporting the livestock and dairy sectors as integral components of the rural economy. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister and Ahsan Pardesi, MLA Lal Chowk. Officials from the Agriculture Production Department and PW(R&B) Department were also present on the occasion—(KNO)
